You may not remember but nine years ago you made a decision to represent a young 19 year old girl who has been charged with a DWI and about three other charges related to a traffic stop. That young woman was [our daughter]. She was on a downward spiral toward a life dominated by sex, drugs, and rock and roll. She hired you and you were able to get three charges dropped and only a $700 fine. You also gave her some advice and said you hoped not to see her there again. That was the low point in her life but from that point on things started turning around. She stopped drinking and doing drugs. She held on to her job at Fed-Ex. [She] then decided to go back to school to better herself. Three years ago she graduated from MATC as a catheterization tech at St. Luke's hospital helping save lives. She went back to school again after being chosen out of her class and graduated as an Echo Tech, and is currently employed at St. Mary's hospital in Racine helping doctors diagnose cardiac problems. She has achieved but she also has built a family with a loving husband and has two wonderful daughters.

The time you met [her] she was at her low water mark but I am convinced that the way you handled her case you gave her another chance. She listened to you like she wouldn't listen to us at the time. I suppose in your profession you see a lot of broken lives and people are on a downward path to destruction. You impact lives in a good way. [Her] case you can count as a success story because her stock rose immediately after meeting you.

I'm sure and am hopeful you are richly compensated for your work as you should be, but we want you to know that you gave us a priceless gift. Our daughter back and what a wonderful young woman she has become. Thank you more than we can say.
