Man arrested in Milwaukee on drug charges

Drug crimes often carry hefty penalties if someone is convicted. They can also harm a person's reputation, causing difficulty finding a new job even years after completing a sentence. That's why it is important to build a solid criminal defense if you are ever accused of a crime.

A man arrested in Milwaukee this week will have to face drug charges after he was arrested for possession of a narcotic drug. The 21-year-old man was allegedly caught purchasing heroin. Police say they saw his vehicle approach another car in a parking lot, and when it left, they decided to follow him and pull him over.

It is unclear what else may have prompted the police to suspect the man was involved in a drug deal. If convicted the man could face three and a half years in prison and a $10,000 fine. This would set this young man behind in pursuing an education or finding suitable work, and it may make it more difficult to find work or an education if he is convicted.

Narcotic drug cases often result in media coverage, also leading to the person's name being printed in the media. This can result in undue scrutiny by employers and family members. Preserving someone's rights and reputation are at the heart of a criminal defense.

Is someone is facing drug charges in Milwaukee it might be wise for them to seek out the help of an experienced criminal defense attorney to make sure their rights are preserved. An attorney can help evaluate the evidence and inform the person of their rights.
